Butch Sriwanthana

Officer Butch Sriwanthana has been a Long Beach Police Officer since 1991.  4 1/2 years as a Reserve Police Officer and 21 years as a full time Police Officer.  He came to the Traffic Section in 2012 as a Day Traffic Motor Officer and then transferred over to the Crime Impact Motor Detail later that year.  Prior to becoming a Motor Officer, Officer Sriwanthana worked as a Violent Crime Detective for 10 years where he specialized in Bombs and Explosives.  He was also a Detective in the Gang Enforcement Section - Field Team and an FTO in patrol.  Officer Sriwanthana was elected to be the Active Rider Representative in 2013 and in March of 2016 was elected to the position of President when the position was vacated by Ed Moscoso due to a transfer to K9.

 

Sean Deaton

Officer Deaton has been a Long Beach Police Officer for over 20 years.  Prior to being selected to the Crime Impact Motor Team in 2008, Officer Deaton has worked for details such as the Port Security Unit and Transit Detail.  2016 Marks Officer Deaton’s 5th term as Motor Patrol Association Vice President.

 

Brian Armstrong

Associate Member Rep Brian Armstrong has been a member of the motor patrol association since 1993. Brian was an active rider for 9 years and served as a motor instructor for 7 years. Positions held on the motor patrol board while an active rider are, Active Rider Rep, and Vice President.  Brian transferred from motors to the Air Support Unit in 2002 and has been the Associate Member Rep since 2002. The Associate Member Rep is the liaison between the board and former motor officers who have gone on to other details or promoted out of the unit.

Scott Neal

Motor Officer Neal has been with the Long Beach Police Department for over 15 years.  He worked East Patrol and Info Tech before being selected for the "Prop H" Impact Motor Team in 2007.  Motor Officer Neal has since transitioned to a Traffic Motor and currently works East Division.  He has served on the Board as the Motor Patrol Association Secretary, Active Rider Rep & Parliamentarian. 

 

Matt Boone

Honorary Board Member Matt Boone has been with the Long Beach Motor Patrol Association for 10 years. He is a local business owner and has served on the Board for 3 years.  He is currently Co-Chairman of our Annual Awards Banquet and Fundraiser held in the 3rd/4th Quarter of every year. He also aids in support of several fundraisers throughout the course of each year.  Matt Boone is about to start his 3rd term as a Board Member in 2016.

 

Dr. G. Scott Birnie

Active member since 1983 and now serves as a Life Board Member. Recently retired after 35 years in practice serving the Long Beach community.  Also a Board member of the Long Beach Honorary Police Officers Association, Life member of the 11-99 Association and on the Board of Governors for the Long Beach City College Foundation.

Brian Ekrem

Officer Ekrem has been a Long Beach Police Officer 18 plus years.  He was selected to be a part of the Prop- H Crime Impact Motor team in 2007 and has remained in that position since.  Prior to becoming a Motor Officer, Brian was an FTO, a member of the Asian Crime Task Force and a Transit Enforcement Officer.  Due to his enjoyment for the job he has remained a “street cop” his entire career.  In 2016 Officer Ekrem was elected to the position of Parliamentarian for the Long Beach Motor Patrol Association.
